Hey everyone. In this video, I'm going
to show you how to set up a custom email
domain for Shopify notifications. So, if
your Shopify emails are still being sent
from a normal email address, or if they
show something like Shopify in the
sender name, this video will help you
fix that. This is useful because your
customers will see emails coming from
your own store email, like
support@yourstorename.com,
instead of a random looking email. It
makes your store look cleaner, more
trusted, and easier to recognize.
Step one, open your Shopify admin.
First, log in to your Shopify store.
Once you are inside your Shopify admin,
look at the bottom left side of the
screen and click settings.
This is where Shopify keeps most of the
store settings, including your store
details, checkout, shipping,
notifications, and domain settings.
For this video, we are working with the
email that Shopify uses when it sends
order updates to your customers. So,
after you open settings, look for
notifications.
Click notifications. This page controls
the emails your customers get from your
store. These can include order
confirmation emails, shipping emails,
delivery emails, refund emails, and
other store messages.
Step two, find the sender email area.
Now, on the notifications page, look for
the sender email area. This is the email
address customers see when Shopify sends
them a message from your store. For
example, if someone buys something from
your store, they may get an order
confirmation email. The sender email is
the email address that appears as the
sender of that message. If you want your
store to look more professional and
easier to trust, it is better to use an
email address that matches your store
domain. For example, instead of using a
Gmail address, you can use something
like support@yourstorename.com.
Try to use something simple and easy for
customers to understand. I would suggest
using support, hello, or contact because
those are clear and common.
After you enter the email, click save.
At this point, Shopify may ask you to
confirm or check the email address. If
Shopify sends you a message, open your
inbox and follow the steps in that
email.
Step four, start the domain check.
After saving your sender email, Shopify
may show you an option to authenticate
your domain. This simply means Shopify
wants to check that you own the domain
and that Shopify is allowed to send
store emails using it. Do not worry if
this sounds confusing. You do not need
to fully understand everything behind
it. Just follow what Shopify shows on
the screen.
Click the option that says authenticate
your domain or email domain
authentication.
If your domain is already connected to
Shopify and Shopify can set it up for
you, you may see an option to
authenticate automatically. If you see
that button, click it. Then, wait for
Shopify to finish the setup.
If Shopify cannot do it automatically,
it will show you a few lines that you
need to copy. These lines need to be
added where your domain is managed. This
might be inside Shopify if you bought
the domain from Shopify or it might be
inside another website like the company
where you bought your domain. Do not
change the lines Shopify gives you. Just
copy them exactly. If Shopify shows more
than one line, copy all of them. Make
sure each one is added in the right
place. This step is very important
because even one small mistake can stop
the email setup from working.
And that's how you set up a custom email
domain for Shopify notifications. Now
your Shopify emails can come from your
own store email, which looks cleaner and
more trusted for your customers.
