[subtitle-meta] lang=en auto=False So guys, Shopify quietly released A-B testing feature natively on Shopify and now you don't have to use any external app to test your theme functionality, to test different sections on your theme. You can do A-B testing within Shopify and the feature name is called Rollouts. And in this video, I'm going to give you step-by-step instructions on how you can create new A-B tests by using Shopify Rollouts. So if you want to learn, make sure to watch the complete video. Do not forget to subscribe the channel, comment on the video below. Let's get started. So guys, this is my development store. And here under markets, you will see this new feature added by Shopify called Rollouts. So Rollouts is basically for A-B testing. So if I click on Rollouts, here we can create a new A-B test. I have played around with it a little bit. So I'm going to click on Create Rollout. And here you can name it whatever you want. I'm going to name it by date. And if you want to add more reference, you can add it. So let's name it this and then click on Save. And here click on Add Any Change. Now here you have the option of if you want to test it with the theme section, or if you want to do that with the checkout. So we don't have much settings in the checkout available. I'm going to go over the checkout settings as well at the end of this video. First, let's click on online store theme. And here I'm going to click on Edit. So you can also replace your main theme with another theme based on this feature. So you can basically roll out a new theme in the future date. But let's first test it with one section. So let's click on Edit. And here you can hide, delete or even add new section. So I'm simply going to hide this hero section just for creating the test rollout. And you can see that it's giving you this new icon, which is basically for the rollout. If you zoom in here, you can see that's for rollout. And here we have this option showing up below the theme as well if you click on this drop down. So I'm going to click on Save. And then let's go back to our rollout. So guys, here we have the launch range, meaning what is the percentage of change which you want to show to your visitors. So it's currently say 100%. I'm going to switch it to 50%. And this is the date and time when this test will be started. So click on select date and time. And here if you want to launch immediately, meaning if you want to start this A-B test right now, you can simply check this mark here and it will launch immediately. Now if you want to launch it in a future date, you can simply select the date. Let's say I want to launch it after two days. So I'm going to select June 16 here, right? Now let's click on Done. Now this is our live store and this is the change when it will happen. Now here we have another percentage that how many time we want to show this new change to our visitors. So if I select here 50%, it is going to show 50% of the time this part, which is our live store, which is our current live team, and 50% of the time this treatment, which is the latest change which we made, meaning we removed the main section, we hide our slider. So 50% of the time it is going to display the treatment and 50% of the time it is going to display the control. That's how it is going to work. And currently there is just A-B test. So there is no A-B and C test. So even if I move it to 33%, you can see that it is not going to show me a different test. It is just going to change the percentage of how many time it will display the main website, meaning our A version to the visitor and how many time it will show the visitor this B part of the store. And below that, we have this treatment will roll back to 0% and this treatment will be applied permanently. So the first thing is you have to decide the end date time. When do you want to end this A-B test? So let's say I have decided to make it run in two days. I want to end it within two weeks or three weeks. I'm simply going to move it to the date where I want to end this test. So let's say I want to end it by 30th June. So if I click on done, now I need to tell the Shopify that after this test has completed, do I want to go back to the original version, which will be the treatment 0%, meaning it will go back to the live version, which we have, or if I want to apply the treatment which I created. So I can either decide to go back to the 0%, the live version, or I can go to treatment will be applied permanently, meaning the B version of the store which we created will be applied permanently. In this case, I want to go with this one, which is treatment will be applied permanently. So I'm going to click here and then click on save. Okay, you can see that our rollout has been scheduled. Now let's check out the other rollout feature which we have, which is for the checkout page. I'm going to go back to the rollouts. And here let's create another rollout by clicking on create rollout button. I'm going to name it this 14th June checkout test. Again, you can name it whatever you want. Now let's click on add any change and here select checkout and accounts. And now I'm going to click on Google checkout settings. First we'll have to save it. Then let's click on add any change again, click on checkout and accounts, and then click on Google checkout settings. Now on this checkout settings, you can see that we have this new option V where we have configurations. Now there is currently one configuration which we have on our store. Now what you can do here is click on these three small dots and then click on duplicate. Now here we have another configuration. And in this configuration, what you can do, you can make minor changes. So we don't have much to change in Shopify because Shopify doesn't allow that. But we can still make minor changes. So if I click on edit, so you can see that this part is not editable. I cannot change anything here. But I can change some stuff in header where I can change the position full width or checkout form or I can change the header in logo settings. And I can also change the order summary part. So if I click on order summary, I have this option to change the background color, add image, and we have the option of changing some position on the footer policies page. So this is the configuration which we can change in our basic plan of Shopify. And if I go back now to my rollouts, so let's go back to the rollout, markets and then rollouts. And now you can see this checkout test. Now what we can do here is switch the configuration of checkout based on our A B testing. So if I click on add any change in go to checkout and accounts. Now you can see that we have this option of replace your current configuration with another. So currently we have this one as a live configuration, and we can switch it to copy of development WebSense Pro configuration. So if I click on that, you can see that again, we have this option of percentage where we can simply define our percentage, we can select date and time just like we did when we were creating an A B test for the theme section, right? We can do the same thing here. Now again, we can select the percentage here. And again, this is the treatment will roll back to zero percent when this test end or treatment will be applied permanently when this test end. So that's what you can do in checkout for the rollout setting for the A B testing. And that's it for this video, guys. Let me know in the comments below if it was easy enough for you to understand. I know it's a little bit confusing. It's a new setting and me and my team is still testing this with some of our client store. If you don't know, we are a Shopify partner. And if you want some free sections for your Shopify store, we have created a dedicated GitHub repository where we have multiple free sections available for you guys with copy and paste. So you can just copy those section and play around with it. Those sections are really helpful and those sections were built from client feedback. So we have built a hundred of stores and based on the feedback which we receive, we built those sections for our clients and then basically open source those sections. So make sure to do check out those sections. And that's it for this video, guys. Until next video. Have a great day.

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.980
So guys, Shopify quietly released A-B testing feature natively on Shopify and now you don't

00:00:05.980 --> 00:00:10.900
have to use any external app to test your theme functionality, to test different sections

00:00:10.900 --> 00:00:11.900
on your theme.

00:00:11.900 --> 00:00:16.760
You can do A-B testing within Shopify and the feature name is called Rollouts.

00:00:16.760 --> 00:00:22.020
And in this video, I'm going to give you step-by-step instructions on how you can create new A-B

00:00:22.020 --> 00:00:24.220
tests by using Shopify Rollouts.

00:00:24.220 --> 00:00:26.580
So if you want to learn, make sure to watch the complete video.

00:00:26.580 --> 00:00:29.300
Do not forget to subscribe the channel, comment on the video below.

00:00:29.300 --> 00:00:30.300
Let's get started.

00:00:30.300 --> 00:00:32.160
So guys, this is my development store.

00:00:32.160 --> 00:00:38.980
And here under markets, you will see this new feature added by Shopify called Rollouts.

00:00:38.980 --> 00:00:41.440
So Rollouts is basically for A-B testing.

00:00:41.440 --> 00:00:46.780
So if I click on Rollouts, here we can create a new A-B test.

00:00:46.780 --> 00:00:48.860
I have played around with it a little bit.

00:00:48.860 --> 00:00:53.220
So I'm going to click on Create Rollout.

00:00:53.220 --> 00:00:55.380
And here you can name it whatever you want.

00:00:55.460 --> 00:00:58.060
I'm going to name it by date.

00:00:58.060 --> 00:01:00.660
And if you want to add more reference, you can add it.

00:01:00.660 --> 00:01:06.480
So let's name it this and then click on Save.

00:01:06.480 --> 00:01:08.920
And here click on Add Any Change.

00:01:08.920 --> 00:01:15.180
Now here you have the option of if you want to test it with the theme section, or if you

00:01:15.180 --> 00:01:17.000
want to do that with the checkout.

00:01:17.000 --> 00:01:19.060
So we don't have much settings in the checkout available.

00:01:19.060 --> 00:01:22.420
I'm going to go over the checkout settings as well at the end of this video.

00:01:22.460 --> 00:01:25.500
First, let's click on online store theme.

00:01:25.500 --> 00:01:27.860
And here I'm going to click on Edit.

00:01:27.860 --> 00:01:34.000
So you can also replace your main theme with another theme based on this feature.

00:01:34.000 --> 00:01:38.500
So you can basically roll out a new theme in the future date.

00:01:38.500 --> 00:01:40.880
But let's first test it with one section.

00:01:40.880 --> 00:01:43.140
So let's click on Edit.

00:01:43.140 --> 00:01:46.700
And here you can hide, delete or even add new section.

00:01:46.700 --> 00:01:51.140
So I'm simply going to hide this hero section just for creating the test rollout.

00:01:51.140 --> 00:01:56.580
And you can see that it's giving you this new icon, which is basically for the rollout.

00:01:56.580 --> 00:01:59.780
If you zoom in here, you can see that's for rollout.

00:01:59.780 --> 00:02:04.580
And here we have this option showing up below the theme as well if you click on this drop

00:02:04.580 --> 00:02:05.580
down.

00:02:05.580 --> 00:02:11.020
So I'm going to click on Save.

00:02:11.020 --> 00:02:14.500
And then let's go back to our rollout.

00:02:14.500 --> 00:02:20.460
So guys, here we have the launch range, meaning what is the percentage of change which you

00:02:20.460 --> 00:02:22.020
want to show to your visitors.

00:02:22.020 --> 00:02:23.820
So it's currently say 100%.

00:02:23.820 --> 00:02:28.940
I'm going to switch it to 50%.

00:02:28.940 --> 00:02:32.500
And this is the date and time when this test will be started.

00:02:32.500 --> 00:02:34.500
So click on select date and time.

00:02:34.500 --> 00:02:39.300
And here if you want to launch immediately, meaning if you want to start this A-B test

00:02:39.300 --> 00:02:43.940
right now, you can simply check this mark here and it will launch immediately.

00:02:43.940 --> 00:02:47.220
Now if you want to launch it in a future date, you can simply select the date.

00:02:47.220 --> 00:02:49.600
Let's say I want to launch it after two days.

00:02:49.600 --> 00:02:52.880
So I'm going to select June 16 here, right?

00:02:52.880 --> 00:02:54.440
Now let's click on Done.

00:02:54.440 --> 00:03:01.860
Now this is our live store and this is the change when it will happen.

00:03:01.860 --> 00:03:08.200
Now here we have another percentage that how many time we want to show this new change

00:03:08.200 --> 00:03:09.780
to our visitors.

00:03:09.780 --> 00:03:17.940
So if I select here 50%, it is going to show 50% of the time this part, which is our live

00:03:18.280 --> 00:03:24.340
store, which is our current live team, and 50% of the time this treatment, which is the

00:03:24.340 --> 00:03:31.160
latest change which we made, meaning we removed the main section, we hide our slider.

00:03:31.160 --> 00:03:35.840
So 50% of the time it is going to display the treatment and 50% of the time it is going

00:03:35.840 --> 00:03:37.860
to display the control.

00:03:37.860 --> 00:03:39.380
That's how it is going to work.

00:03:39.380 --> 00:03:41.700
And currently there is just A-B test.

00:03:41.700 --> 00:03:43.940
So there is no A-B and C test.

00:03:43.940 --> 00:03:49.900
So even if I move it to 33%, you can see that it is not going to show me a different test.

00:03:49.900 --> 00:03:54.580
It is just going to change the percentage of how many time it will display the main

00:03:54.580 --> 00:04:01.760
website, meaning our A version to the visitor and how many time it will show the visitor

00:04:01.760 --> 00:04:05.280
this B part of the store.

00:04:05.280 --> 00:04:10.440
And below that, we have this treatment will roll back to 0% and this treatment will be

00:04:10.440 --> 00:04:12.080
applied permanently.

00:04:12.080 --> 00:04:15.280
So the first thing is you have to decide the end date time.

00:04:15.280 --> 00:04:17.240
When do you want to end this A-B test?

00:04:17.240 --> 00:04:19.960
So let's say I have decided to make it run in two days.

00:04:19.960 --> 00:04:22.000
I want to end it within two weeks or three weeks.

00:04:22.000 --> 00:04:26.060
I'm simply going to move it to the date where I want to end this test.

00:04:26.060 --> 00:04:28.880
So let's say I want to end it by 30th June.

00:04:28.880 --> 00:04:35.920
So if I click on done, now I need to tell the Shopify that after this test has completed,

00:04:35.920 --> 00:04:42.000
do I want to go back to the original version, which will be the treatment 0%, meaning it

00:04:42.120 --> 00:04:46.760
will go back to the live version, which we have, or if I want to apply the treatment

00:04:46.760 --> 00:04:47.880
which I created.

00:04:47.880 --> 00:04:53.880
So I can either decide to go back to the 0%, the live version, or I can go to treatment

00:04:53.880 --> 00:04:57.920
will be applied permanently, meaning the B version of the store which we created will

00:04:57.920 --> 00:04:59.620
be applied permanently.

00:04:59.620 --> 00:05:04.760
In this case, I want to go with this one, which is treatment will be applied permanently.

00:05:04.760 --> 00:05:08.320
So I'm going to click here and then click on save.

00:05:09.320 --> 00:05:13.280
Okay, you can see that our rollout has been scheduled.

00:05:13.280 --> 00:05:19.960
Now let's check out the other rollout feature which we have, which is for the checkout page.

00:05:19.960 --> 00:05:23.240
I'm going to go back to the rollouts.

00:05:23.240 --> 00:05:27.680
And here let's create another rollout by clicking on create rollout button.

00:05:27.680 --> 00:05:34.920
I'm going to name it this 14th June checkout test.

00:05:34.920 --> 00:05:36.760
Again, you can name it whatever you want.

00:05:36.760 --> 00:05:42.240
Now let's click on add any change and here select checkout and accounts.

00:05:42.240 --> 00:05:46.000
And now I'm going to click on Google checkout settings.

00:05:46.000 --> 00:05:50.440
First we'll have to save it.

00:05:50.440 --> 00:05:54.720
Then let's click on add any change again, click on checkout and accounts, and then click

00:05:54.720 --> 00:05:56.680
on Google checkout settings.

00:05:56.680 --> 00:06:00.920
Now on this checkout settings, you can see that we have this new option V where we have

00:06:00.920 --> 00:06:02.620
configurations.

00:06:02.620 --> 00:06:06.120
Now there is currently one configuration which we have on our store.

00:06:06.120 --> 00:06:12.120
Now what you can do here is click on these three small dots and then click on duplicate.

00:06:12.120 --> 00:06:14.960
Now here we have another configuration.

00:06:14.960 --> 00:06:18.480
And in this configuration, what you can do, you can make minor changes.

00:06:18.480 --> 00:06:23.120
So we don't have much to change in Shopify because Shopify doesn't allow that.

00:06:23.120 --> 00:06:24.360
But we can still make minor changes.

00:06:24.360 --> 00:06:28.640
So if I click on edit, so you can see that this part is not editable.

00:06:28.640 --> 00:06:30.940
I cannot change anything here.

00:06:30.940 --> 00:06:37.000
But I can change some stuff in header where I can change the position full width or checkout

00:06:37.000 --> 00:06:40.840
form or I can change the header in logo settings.

00:06:40.840 --> 00:06:44.060
And I can also change the order summary part.

00:06:44.060 --> 00:06:47.980
So if I click on order summary, I have this option to change the background color, add

00:06:47.980 --> 00:06:54.860
image, and we have the option of changing some position on the footer policies page.

00:06:55.220 --> 00:07:00.940
So this is the configuration which we can change in our basic plan of Shopify.

00:07:00.940 --> 00:07:12.700
And if I go back now to my rollouts, so let's go back to the rollout, markets and then rollouts.

00:07:12.700 --> 00:07:15.580
And now you can see this checkout test.

00:07:15.580 --> 00:07:21.980
Now what we can do here is switch the configuration of checkout based on our A B testing.

00:07:21.980 --> 00:07:25.500
So if I click on add any change in go to checkout and accounts.

00:07:25.500 --> 00:07:30.960
Now you can see that we have this option of replace your current configuration with another.

00:07:30.960 --> 00:07:36.900
So currently we have this one as a live configuration, and we can switch it to copy of development

00:07:36.900 --> 00:07:38.280
WebSense Pro configuration.

00:07:38.280 --> 00:07:43.300
So if I click on that, you can see that again, we have this option of percentage where we

00:07:43.300 --> 00:07:49.300
can simply define our percentage, we can select date and time just like we did when we were

00:07:49.340 --> 00:07:53.220
creating an A B test for the theme section, right?

00:07:53.220 --> 00:07:54.940
We can do the same thing here.

00:07:54.940 --> 00:07:58.020
Now again, we can select the percentage here.

00:07:58.020 --> 00:08:03.220
And again, this is the treatment will roll back to zero percent when this test end or

00:08:03.220 --> 00:08:07.320
treatment will be applied permanently when this test end.

00:08:07.320 --> 00:08:13.020
So that's what you can do in checkout for the rollout setting for the A B testing.

00:08:13.020 --> 00:08:14.300
And that's it for this video, guys.

00:08:14.300 --> 00:08:17.740
Let me know in the comments below if it was easy enough for you to understand.

00:08:17.740 --> 00:08:19.700
I know it's a little bit confusing.

00:08:19.700 --> 00:08:25.420
It's a new setting and me and my team is still testing this with some of our client store.

00:08:25.420 --> 00:08:28.480
If you don't know, we are a Shopify partner.

00:08:28.480 --> 00:08:34.100
And if you want some free sections for your Shopify store, we have created a dedicated

00:08:34.100 --> 00:08:39.220
GitHub repository where we have multiple free sections available for you guys with copy

00:08:39.220 --> 00:08:40.220
and paste.

00:08:40.220 --> 00:08:43.020
So you can just copy those section and play around with it.

00:08:43.020 --> 00:08:48.440
Those sections are really helpful and those sections were built from client feedback.

00:08:48.440 --> 00:08:52.420
So we have built a hundred of stores and based on the feedback which we receive, we built

00:08:52.420 --> 00:08:56.780
those sections for our clients and then basically open source those sections.

00:08:56.780 --> 00:08:59.300
So make sure to do check out those sections.

00:08:59.300 --> 00:09:00.540
And that's it for this video, guys.

00:09:00.540 --> 00:09:01.540
Until next video.

00:09:01.540 --> 00:09:01.980
Have a great day.
