Hi there and welcome back to Conia's
educational YouTube series where we help
new Shopify store owners find the best
drop shipping apps and automations to
scale your store quickly step by step.
My name is Ashley and today I'm walking
you through how to integrate the Shopify
email app into your Shopify store. So
let's get started. Okay, so first let's
go over a little bit about the app. So
this is Shopify's built-in email
marketing and campaign system. So we can
use it to send branded emails directly
from your store dashboard without
needing third party tools. So, having
this app on your Shopify is super
helpful because it lets you communicate
with customers fast. Whether it's
announcing a new product, sending a
promotion, or recovering abandoned
carts. And if you're wondering why
marketing matters, it's simple. Email
still has one of the highest ROI of any
marketing channel. You own your list,
you can segment your audience, and it
gives you a direct line to your best
customers. So, this app works really
great for any store in any niche,
especially if you're in fashion,
accessories, beauty, digital products,
really anything where repeat customers
are key. All right, so from our Shopify
dashboard, we're going to head up to
this top search bar here. Go ahead and
click on apps, and you're just going to
type in All right, so you can see this
uh purpleish icon here. Just go ahead
and click that. All right, so this will
bring us into the Shopify app store into
the Shopify emails installation page.
So, here you can see uh a lot of key
features here as well as their pricing
plan. It's free to install, which is
awesome. And they also have a lot of
reviews that you can go check out. Now,
if all that looks good to you, just go
ahead and click install. All right. And
you're going to get this little popup
here. This is really just a permissions
popup. So, it's going to show you
everything that this app will have
access to inside your Shopify store. So,
I definitely recommend reading through
all of these and making sure you're okay
with all that. If that looks good, just
click install again. Okay. So, now it
brings us into this step-by-step kind of
process here. I'm going to pin this to
my navigation. So, it's going to stay
right here under apps. All right. So,
the first thing it's going to want us to
do is to customize our template
branding. So, this is exactly what your
customers are going to see in your email
marketing. So, let's go ahead and click
this button here. All right. So, here
you're going to add your logo.
Obviously, add your store name here. You
can choose your fonts as well if you
have a specific font on your website.
And you can also choose your store
colors. I highly recommend putting in
your brand colors here as well, of
course. So again, you can put your name
here, the address. If you have a certain
address that you'd like to show right
here, you can put that. And if you don't
even want to show it, you can also
choose to not show these certain things
here. Okay. So next, we're going to be
asked to verify our sender email. So
just click verify email. All right. So
now it's going to bring you into your
Shopify settings under the notifications
tab. Just make sure that this is the
email here that you actually want to use
and receive uh notifications on. So down
here there are also some customization
that you can use with customer
notifications, staff notifications,
fulfillment request notifications as
well, that kind of thing. So I do
recommend checking those out too. All
right, so this next step here is to
create our first campaign. So click on
create campaign here. All right, you're
going to see a bunch of different
templates that you can choose from. So
[snorts] we're going to pick a kind of a
random one here. Maybe like a new
arrivals for example. So here you'll be
able to see what it'll kind of look
like. These are actual products that I
have on the store right now. So, you're
able to see what that would look like
for your store specifically. So, if we
select this template here, your plan to
send emails. So, here you'll be able to
choose who to actually send this to,
right? You can also write a subject,
which I highly recommend doing. And for
example, like, yeah, we're making a new
arrivals uh campaign. So, maybe you make
something that just makes the customer
want to click on the email, right? We
want to spark their interest. You can
also write a preview text here if you'd
like to. And down here again, you can
see how everything's going to look. So
over here, for example, again, I do
really recommend adding your brand
colors here. So for example, let's say
mine are uh red and blue. You can really
customize all of this, which is really
nice. You can also choose this add
section part here. So you can add text,
button, image, video. You there's so
much you can do here in terms of
customization. So I really like this.
All right. So you can see right here,
all the changes have been already saved.
You don't actually have to keep saving
things as you go. But I do want to point
out this send test button right here. So
you can actually just click this, put
your email in here, and you'll be able
to see exactly what your customers will
see when they receive this email as
well. Okay, so the next step here is to
grow our audience with Shopify forms. So
first of all, what is Shopify forms?
It's basically a built-in lead capture
tool that helps you collect visitor
emails so you can actually start growing
your subscriber list. So here it'll ask
us to install this Shopify forms app.
It's totally fine. Again, I'm going to
pin this to my navigation here. All
right. So, now we're going to create a
form. So, you do have a option here. You
can choose inline or popup. I'm going to
choose popup. And uh I'm just going to
name my form testing. Okay. So, in this
option here, you can have it interrupt
your visitor on your website like fully
or you can have it just as a floating
kind of little popup here in the bottom.
So, you can choose uh where it's at
located on your website. Now, here in
the teaser, you have a couple options
you can choose from. So, they'll be
showing the popup maybe before the form
and if the customer closes the form or
if a customer closes the form without
subscribing. I'm just going to keep it
on the default there. I don't feel like
there's any reason to change that. Of
course, you can change the title, the
content, and the fields as well. Here,
button label. There is a default consent
disclaimer if you'd like to, or you can
actually redirect to another page for
your customers to input their email as
well. You have your colors, your
branding colors, right? All of that kind
of thing. You can also change the font
here as well. Again, add an image. If
you want to show it on a specific
device, you can here as well. And on the
bottom here, you can actually choose to
send yourself an email for each
submission to this form. So, anytime a
customer signs up to the subscriber
list, you'll be able to get an email to
see that. So, once you've gone through
everything, just go ahead and click
save. Okay. So, now we have this
notification. Our form was created. Now,
we have to install the forms theme app.
So, we're going to click this. go to
online store and it's already going to
pull up this app here in app embeds. All
you have to do is just click this toggle
on and as soon as it loads click save.
So you can actually see that it's it's
already popping up on my website. You
can see that this is what it'll look
like for your customers as well. All
right. So now you can see in our forms
tab here we have our testing campaign
going and you'll be able to see a lot of
analytics for this as well.
So here you'll see views, submissions,
conversion rate, that kind of thing,
which is really cool. If you want to
create a new one, you can always just
click this create form button, and it'll
show you all of those templates that we
just went through. Now, going back to
our email here. All right, so we have
four out of six tasks complete. The next
thing it wants us to do is to convert
subscribers into loyal customers. So
just go ahead and click on turn on
automations. All right. So, here you're
going to see a bunch of automation
templates. So, let's scroll through some
of these. Recovered abandoned checkout,
recover abandoned cart with a discount.
So, just picking one at random here.
Let's do welcome new subscribers with a
discount email. So, it's going to show
you the two apps required for this.
Obviously, we just downloaded Shopify
Flow, so we've got both. We're going to
click use template. All right. So, you
can see the trigger here is when a new
customer subscribes to our email
marketing. And this is a very small flow
actually. So the next step here is a
condition. So you can see our trigger
here is when a customer subscribes to
our email marketing. All right. So here
they have a condition. So if a customer
decided to not subscribe at their
checkout, then this next step here is to
send them a marketing email. So it'll
show you the exact marketing email that
they're talking about. And I actually
did not uh finalize this. So that's why
it's saying that. And of course, it
gives us that uh link to edit that
email. But just so you're aware, like
this is how the flows kind of look here.
Of course, you can add different
conditions. You can add uh and or
conditions as well here. If you want to
keep going, you can add a condition or
an actual action. This is really a
pretty easy flow setup. And actually, if
you go into this marketing uh tab right
here on the lefth hand side, if you
click automations right here, it's going
to show you all. So, we have our
marketing automations, the welcome new
subscribers with a discount and
abandoned cart checkout emails by
Shopify. So, we haven't activated this
yet, but we have this activated and this
part will actually show you the reach
sessions, orders, sales, all of these
analytics that are really, really
helpful. So, right here, of course, they
have like the step by steps just how we
were learning the new app. You can
actually go in here and they will kind
of walk you through how to use these
templates as well. So, let's go back to
our actual email app. All right. So,
coming back here to our checklist, it
looks like there's only just one last
thing to do. So, Shopify gives you an
option to check out a recorded webinar
on using this tool. So, if you're new to
email marketing, this might be a good
deep dive for you. Now, if you click
this templates tab right here, you can
actually create your own template if
you'd like to. I recommend using
templates that are already pre-provided,
pre-built in case you're not, you know,
super in tune with design maybe. But if
you'd like to, you can create a template
here as well. All right. So, here in the
settings tab, you'll see some uh
different analytics here. So, total
emails sent, automated emails, marketing
emails, and of course, the total cost
here as well. You'll be able to go back
and if you remember the the first step
that we did on this website, it was our
template branding. All right, so that's
